Life Reimagined - Edina
Richard Leider

Life is full of change. Our newest community program is intended to help people of all generations prepare for and engage in life's transitions. Life Reimagined - Edina (LRE) is inspired by the writings of Richard Leider, a national best selling author and executive coach from Edina, recognized for his work on the power of purpose. His 40 years of research on living purposefully has formed the basis for a national Life Reimagined Institute by AARP in Washington, D.C. The Edina Chamber of Commerce, Edina Community Education and the Edina Community Foundation are part of this pilot project along with the generous funding sponsorship of Waddell & Reed Financial Advisors.

Jan Schubert is the new program coordinator and can be reached at www.LifeReimagined-Edina.org

The Edina Challenge

This initiative began in 2012 to bring various community nonprofits together to better help disadvantaged Edina youth. Five gap areas of needed support emerged and with the help of 14 community organizations the Challenge team has been working together to provide responsive programming to impact those needs. Your generous contributions have helped support:

  • Summer Edina Parks and Recreation fee waivers for 153 youth and their families;

  • Summer of Opportunity grants for 18 middle school youth to attend YMCA camps;

  • One2One mentoring for 15 middle school youth through a cooperative program with the Southdale YMCA;

  • Oasis for Youth services for homeless and displaced youth in Edina and surrounding suburban communities.

  • The Last Mile, a college preparation program benefitting 19 Edina High School graduating seniors who are the first in their family to attend college;

  • The development of the Ready-Set-Connect card focused on a dignity of access method to provide disadvantaged youth and their families a simple, cohesive way to access fee waivers and scholarships for numerous community programs.

Foundation Fiesta

Over 85 adults gathered at board member Lana and Andy Slavitt's home in Edina for a fun spring FIESTA on Friday, May 15 to celebrate all of the good work of the Edina Community Foundation! Generous donations raised at this event help support local youth programs and student scholarships.

Your donation, in any amount, helps support the work of the Foundation. Donate today.
