Holiday Break Information
Today is the final day of the first semester at LPS! Classes will resume at LPS on Wednesday, January 4, 2017. We hope all of our students, parents, staff, and community have a safe and restful holiday season, and we look forward to seeing you in 2017!
Exciting Building Pride Challenge Opportunity
The Building Pride Campaign has been presented with an incredible challenge. A matching funds challenge has been issued to double, up to $250,000, from community pledges and gifts by February 1, 2017. You read that right! Several contributors have come together to MATCH up to $250,000 towards the District Activity Complexes if the general public will raise that much. That gives us the opportunity to have $500,000 more in the fund. Remember, at the Building Pride press conference last week, it was announced that we have $2.5 million toward the $4.9 million needed, so we are over halfway there in just 100 days of the campaign.

Checks may be sent to the Liberty School District Foundation, Attention Building Pride Campaign, 8 Victory Lane, Liberty, MO  64068. Donations of $100 and more may be made online by going to lsdf.org.  Also, contributions may be scheduled over a two-year period to make giving easier.  PLEASE, let's act now and come together to meet this challenge. It's also a chance to get an end-of-the-year tax deduction. Remember to let your companies know, if you work for a company that has matching donation programs.

Warren Hills Student Wins Contest
It was announced on December 16 that Warren Hills Elementary 4th grade student Brooke Hayes was a contest winner for the 10th annual "Bag Your Favorite Book", hosted by Price Chopper! Brooke's entry was one of over 9,500 entries submitted throughout the metro. This past fall, students in elementary, middle school, and junior high entered the contest by designing an original cover of a book. Teachers determined if their students could pick a favorite book or an assigned book. Nine students (one per grade, K-8) have been selected and awarded with a classroom party and a $500 donation for their school library! Congratulations to both Brooke and everyone at Warren Hills Elementary!
QuickNews Bulletin Board
In an effort to make our Liberty Public Schools e-newsletter, QuickNews (QN), a concise publication, which subscribers may read in a timely fashion, district/community announcements will be advertised in the main QuickNews section for a maximum of two weeks.  After this period of time, announcements will be transferred to our QuickNews Bulletin Board, which is located on the LPS website provided at the link below. In addition, the Bulletin Board may include announcements not meeting the criteria to be placed in this publication. The addition of the QN Bulletin Board allows them to now be publicized. This bulletin board will continuously be updated throughout the week, and announcements will remain until they expire by date. In addition, LPS has transitioned to a new eflyer management system called Peachjar.  You can simply click the logo below to visit the program website.
