City Manager, John Gillison - Feb. 11th

John Gillison was appointed as City Manager for the City of Rancho Cucamonga effective September 1, 2011.  He served as the Assistant City Manager for the City of Rancho Cucamonga since 2009.  Prior to taking over the position as Assistant City Manager, John was the Deputy City Manager for the Administrative Services Department, which includes the Finance, Human Resources, Risk Management, Geographic Information Services, Special Districts, Purchasing and Information Services functions.  John served in that capacity from 2007 through 2009.
Before coming to the City of Rancho Cucamonga, John enjoyed a fifteen year career in local government, including service in the San Gabriel Valley area of Los Angeles County as well as the South Bay area of Los Angeles County, worked at four different cities including small, medium and large agencies, both charter and general law, full-service and contract agencies, and was also the City Manager for the City of Sierra Madre for several years.

During his years in local government, John has worked in a Finance Department as a Management Analyst, in a Community Development Department as a Management Analyst, and in the City Manager's Office in three different communities, including as an Administrative Intern, Principal Management Analyst, Deputy City Manager and City Manager.  He has experience in business license, planning and building and safety, redevelopment, parking permits, information services, geographic information services and human resources.  Along the way he has also acquired a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science with a Minor in Criminal Justice, and a Master of Public Administration, both from California State University Fullerton.  John also has a Juris Doctorate from Western State University College of Law and is a Licensed California Attorney.

Community Improvement Manager, Jana Cook - Feb. 11th

Jana Cook joined Team RC in September 2015 as the Community Improvement Manager.  She has brought thirty years of experience as a civilian in public safety, first as a 9-1-1 dispatcher and supervisor where she worked at the state level to develop training for emergency dispatchers.  As a code enforcement officer she developed training for the California Association of Code Enforcement Officers that assisted many cities in California to effectively respond to vacant, distressed or neglected properties.  Her goals in Rancho Cucamonga include developing positive relationships with residents and business owners to support the high quality of neighborhoods and commercial districts through educating property owners and connecting those in need to available programs and services.

As your elected member of the State Board of Equalization, I am pleased to announce the opening of a new Taxpayer Service Center located in Rancho Cucamonga at 10760 4th Street, Suite 200.

District Administrator Rick Corp and his staff of friendly and professional tax experts share my goal of providing you with excellent customer service and useful resources so your business can prosper, even in California's challenging tax and regulatory climate. We understand your business is critical to the economic vitality of the inland region and our state.

Our new Rancho Cucamonga Taxpayer Service Center offers helpful workshops that cover basic sales and use tax issues and tax return preparation. Additionally, we plan to host full-day tax seminars for both small business owners and nonprofit organizations. The California Small Business Association has scheduled a Small Business Advisory Council Meeting with Assemblyman Marc Steinorth on Friday, February 26th  from 10:00 am -11:00 am in Rancho Cucamonga. The meeting is composed of 6-8 small business owners from with-in the district that have been recommended to us as knowledgeable and active members of the small business community. We ask that only business owners with 2 or more employees attend this meeting. We would appreciate your participation on behalf of your small business industry and/or organization.   Below are the meeting details:
