CORE Training
The Medicaid Service Coordination (MSC) CORE Training is a full day training to:
Review the structure, role, and mission of OPWDD, as well as the Agency’s history
Learn about the current types of services and supports OPWDD and its network of voluntary agencies provide
Understand person-centered philosophies and other concepts behind Medicaid Service Coordination
Understand your role and responsibilities of being a Medicaid Service Coordinator
Review and understand standard Medicaid Service Coordination documentation requirements
This training satisfies the requirement that Medicaid Service Coordinators (MSCs) and staff overseeing MSCs attend a one-day OPWDD-approved CORE training program within 6 months of assuming MSC responsibilities.
The Individualized Service Plan (ISP) Training for Medicaid Service Coordinators (MSCs) is a full-day training to:
Define the ISP and explain its importance
Identify the components of the ISP
Explain how to apply Person Centered Principles in writing an ISP
Compile the necessary attachments to the ISP
Discuss how to implement the ISP
This training satisfies the requirement that MSCs attend a one-day OPWDD-approved ISP training program within two (2) years of assuming MSC responsibilities.
The Person-Centered Planning Training for Medicaid Service Coordinators (MSCs) is a half-day training. Upon completion of this training, participants will be able to articulate:
The philosophy and principles of person centered planning.
The fundamental characteristics shared by person centered planning methodologies.
How the "mapping process" supports a person centered approach to planning.
How to support self-determination and self direction in a person centered environment.
This training satisfies the requirement that MSCs attend a half-day OPWDD-approved Person-Centered Planning training program within two (2) years of assuming MSC responsibilities.
