BioHealth/Life Science Industry Events Abound
Did you miss the first I-270 Bio Corridor event last month?  If so, you missed out on learning about and connecting with some of the top bio and life science companies and experts as well as resource partners like REDI, the MD Department of Commerce, the Montgomery County Economic Development Corp, Frederick County Office of Economic Development, Frederick City, the City of Gaithersburg Office of Economic Development and Montgomery College.  
Over 100 attendees enjoyed a happy hour and discussion of how best to help the I-270 corridor grow with more bio and life science companies at CRB's new headquarters in Rockville.  
This event was scheduled as a precursor to the BIO International Convention taking place this month in San Francisco, REDI, our I-270 Corridor partners, will be there in the Maryland pavilion with information and resources for those companies that may be looking for the perfect location for their bio and life science businesses, promoting the I-270 corridor a hub for this niche market.

Public Safety Awards in Rockville
June 8th marks the celebration of the 27th Annual Public Safety Awards in Rockville. 
Law enforcement officers and fire and rescue personnel will be honored during the 27th Annual Rockville Public Safety Awards  at 11:30 a.m. at Lakewood Country Club, 13901 Glen Mill Road.
Each year, members of public safety agencies that serve the City of Rockville are recognized for their outstanding service. Since 1990, awards have been presented to over 500 members of Rockville's public safety agencies and civilians, including to four K-9 partners.
This year, there will be special honors for long time Rockville City Police Chief, Terry Treschuk.
Members of the Rockville City Police Department, Rockville Volunteer Fire Department, Montgomery County Sheriff's Department, Montgomery County Department of Correction and Rehabilitation and Montgomery County Police Department will be honored for their service to the community.
The annual awards program is sponsored by the City of Rockville; Crime Solvers of Montgomery County, Md.; Montgomery College; Montgomery County Cornerstone Masonic Lodge No. 195; Rockville Chamber of Commerce; Rockville Kiwanis Club; Rockville Lions Club; Rockville Rotary Club; Washington Rockville Elks Lodge No. 15; and Westat.
REDI Intros Rockville Dealmakers Program
REDI has announced a new program to recognize leasing activity that contributes to Rockville's vibrant business community, and is looking for the most newsworthy commercial real estate transactions taking place in the City.
Each month REDI will feature the brokers from one outstanding deal as  "Rockville Dealmakers of the Month" in our e-newsletter that reaches over 6,000 subscribers, as well as feature them on a dedicated page on the website. In addition, the brokers from one transaction in the year will be presented with the  "Rockville Dealmakers of the Year"  award at our annual  Commercial Broker Breakfast in the fall.

Supernus CEO, Jack Khattar  was named Life Science CEO of the Year by  The Tech Council of Maryland, the state's largest technology trade association, during its 28th Annual Industry Awards.
