REDI's annual REDI Resource Meetup
(R2M) 2016 is scheduled for September 22
at the Best Western Plus Hotel and you will NOT want to miss it!

R2M is our opportunity to celebrate Maryland's Economic Development Week here in Rockville and promote the mission of the Maryland Economic Development Association (MEDA).

Join REDI, contributing sponsors, PNC Bank and Vantage Point Solutions Group, and many local business owners and leaders at this FREE networking happy hour to learn about resources available to your business at the local, regional, and state levels.

One highlight is the presenting of the " Rockin' in Rockville" award to a City company that has exhibited growth and contributed positively to our community.
(Prior year winners include  EMMES, Community Ministries of Rockville and  NIKA+ Architecture.)

In addition to our staff, you'll be able to meet nearly a dozen of our resource partners around the region including representatives from:

  • Maryland Economic Development Association (MEDA)

MWBC Gets $100k from Coca-Cola

The Coca Cola Foundation   awarded  REDI  a grant of
$100,000 to support the    Maryland Women's Business Center.

"We are delighted to support (their) work,"  wrote Roger Johnson, Community Relations Manager for The Coca-Cola Company.
Johnson went on to say that empowering women to thrive is a worldwide commitment of The Coca-Cola Company and one of three global priorities for The Coca-Cola Foundation and more than $2 million in grants from The Coca-Cola Foundation was directed to organizations focused on women's empowerment, entrepreneurship and other programs uniquely impacting women.

MWBC Anniversary Events Continue

The 2016 StartRight! Women's Business Plan Competition concluded with the awarding of the winners at the Power Conference last month.  With over $13,000 in prizes given

out, this year's $5,000 Grand Prize was awarded to Free State Cooperage owner, Alice Blayne-Allard. 


The First Runner Up prize was awarded to Damini Agarwal, owner of MedAPT and Second Runner Up was awarded to Shenita Penn & Krystina Sims, Next Steps In Nursing. Two Third Runner Up prizes were awarded to semifinalists, Takia Ross with Accessmatized and Deborah Bodin Cohen with The Story House.


This year's winner of the "Pick The Pitch" category was Shenita Penn and Krystina Sims, co-founders of Next Steps in Nursing, LLC (NSIN).    For more info on the winners click here.
