About our speaker:
 Katie is the Adult Services Librarian at Emmett O'Neal.  She will share her expertise about library resources and job search.   If you are not a card carrying member, you will be.  Expect to be educated!  The library can be a great place to build your knowledge during job search.  Following Katie's remarks, we'll spend time in roundtable discussions on job search topics.

About Career Connections

 

We are the new Career Connections network for Birmingham, Alabama. As an extension of our original endeavor, the Career Assistance Network for Birmingham, we are a volunteer effort working to put career resources - community and career counselors, faith-based organizations, professional organizations (BSHRM) and staffing firms - in one place, easily found by those we are serving. 

 

We like to think of ourselves as Birmingham's

one-stop shop for

career assistance and career resources.

 

Whether you are relocating to Birmingham, looking for a job or changing careers, you may benefit from being a part of the our network. 

 

Career Connections meetings are held on the 4th Monday of every month - go ahead and mark those calendars now!

 

What to expect at the meetings:

From 6:00pm to 8:00pm, you'll have the opportunity to connect with others in the Birmingham area. The program will flow as follows:

 

6:00pm - 6:30pm    Meet and Network

6:30pm - 8:00pm    Career Program

 

Program topics will change and will be tailored for the participants as much as possible.  Programs touch on topics such as:

  • career strategies,
  • career opportunities,
  • networking,
  • on-line resources,
  • interviewing skills and so much more.

It's a valuable way to spend your Monday evenings!
