RESTORE THE DELTA NAMED

2012 FULL CIRCLE FUND GRANTEE,

WILL PARTNER WITH NATIONAL GEOGRAPHIC & AMERICA'S CUP

STOCKTON, CA - Restore the Delta announced today that it has been selected, along with eight other non-profits, as a 2012 Full Circle Fund grant partner. The Full Circle Fund is a Bay Area non-profit organized by business community leaders. At its inaugural Full Circle Fund Demo Day event last evening, Full Circle Fund announced that Restore the Delta will partner with a National Geographic Photo Camp that will in turn be displayed throughout San Francisco by the America's Cup and other platforms.

It's the first time Full Circle Fund is working on a collaborative project with three organizations, and potentially more.  The project will raise awareness about the importance of the Delta from a local youth perspective. National Geographic Photo Camp will operate and manage the program, Restore the Delta will provide local content and help identify the students, and America's Cup will provide an incredible outreach platform to showcase the students work and story of the Delta when the America's Cup Finals are held in SF in 2013.

"Engaged youth will be documenting their backyard - the Sacramento-San Joaquin Delta, and the San Francisco Bay - potentially hundreds of thousands of people will see the exhibit through outreach partners, like the America's Cup," said Barbara Barrigan-Parrilla, executive director of Restore the Delta.  "The public will be exposed to the idea of the link between good water quality and quantity in the Delta, and the restoration of coastal fisheries, which in turn support Ocean species.  This project has the potential to enable thousands of California residents to develop an increased delta/bay/ocean ethic."

Full Circle Fund is an engaged philanthropy organization cultivating the next generation of community leaders and driving lasting social change in the Bay Area. For more information, visit  www.fullcirclefund.org.
