Ballot Update
- HDWD mailed out ballots to homeowners on March 27, 2015;
- Click Here to view a list of FAQ's about the ballot process;
- If a ballot is lost or misplaced, contact the HDWD office to request a replacement. Upon receiving the replacement ballot, the original ballot will become null and void;
- Ballots must be marked, signed, dated, and name printed in ink;
- Ballots must be returned by the close of the Public Hearing scheduled on May 13, 2015 beginning at 9:00am in the HDWD Board Room.
Design Update
- Click Here to view the final version of the Assessment's District's Engineer Report. Within the report, property owners will find information regarding how each individual property's shared cost of the Sewer Project has been calculated.
- HDWD is continuing to work on obtaining easements for the future installation of the sewer project's collection system;

Funding Update
- On March 17, 2015, HDWD staff, Board members, members of the community, presented to the State Water Resources Control Board (SWRCB). The SWRCB approved a one percent loan from the State Revolving Fund (SRF) to finance the individual property owner shared cost of the sewer project. Acquiring the one percent loan is contingent on a successful assessment district vote or it will expire September 2015. Click Here to read more;
- HDWD will return to the SWRCB in July 2015 to apply for low interest financing to help finance the private connection costs for property owners;
- HDWD is in the process of developing a financial assistance program. More details will become available in the coming months.

The State Water Resources Control Board adopted an expanded emergency regulation on March 17th to safeguard the California's remaining water supplies.
HDWD is in the process of updating the water use regulations to reflect the new state guidelines.

CAPITAL REPLACEMENT PROGRAM (CRP)
|
CRP crews have replaced approximately 28,000 feet of new water mains this fiscal year, (beginning July 2014).
Currently, CRP crews are working on Hwy 247.
The next area the CRP crew will begin replacing water mains, will be within the Phase 1 area starting on Palm Ave and Onaga.

Earth Day Fair
Saturday, April 18
In honor of Earth Day (April 22nd) HDWD participated in the Earth Day Fair. HDWD provided education on how to conserve water, information on the sewer project, and visitors also had the opportunity to take the California Plunge, by pledging to reduce water use.

CREEC Annual Coachella Valley Environmental Art Contest & Exhibition

The California Regional Environmental Education Community (CREEC) is hosting its annual Art Contest and this year's theme is WATER. The contest is open to students Pre-K through 12th grade. Students can choose from 3 design categories: Environmental Art, Recycle Art or Photo Essay.
