This Thursday:

#squadgoals: Real Community
1 John 4:16-19

Weekly Message:
Hey REVIVE!

The new sermon series we're launching this Thursday, #squadgoals: Real Community is a series about how to handle the ups, downs, ins and outs of community, especially when it's not easy! Conflict, bad boundaries, gossip, fear of showing the real "me" and more make developing real, deep relationships difficult at times.

Sometimes building friendships feels a lot like dating: "Does this person really like me as much as I like them?" "Am I more into this friendship than they are?" Even years into the friendship, unexpected speed bumps or rough patches have made me more insecure than secure in the relationship - sometimes because of the other friend and sometimes because of what's going on in my own head.

Building relationships isn't always secure and easy, and our fears and anxieties about being rejected often get in the way of real, meaningful friendships and communities.

The author of 1 John hits the nail on the head: " There is no room in love for fear. Well-formed love banishes fear. Since fear is crippling, a fearful life-fear of death, fear of judgment-is one not yet fully formed in love. " (1 John 4:17-18, MSG)

This Thursday, Ryan Hervey is kicking it all off with a message you don't want to miss about these fears and anxieties, and building authentic relationships where we can know each other and be known by one another! I can't wait. See you Thursday! Bring a friend!
