A MESSAGE FROM THE HEAD OF SCHOOL
What a High-Powered First Week!

The campus has been abuzz this week with energy, enthusiasm, and high spirits as we all ease out of our summers and into our fall routines. You will have realized by now that we have planned a packed agenda this fall: teachers, staff, Head of School, and students alike are rolling up their sleeves and getting to work with classes, sports, arts, cheer, athletics, clubs, and student council activities. We start full-day schedules next week, with PE beginning Tuesday (for grades 5-10 on Mondays through Thursdays, dismissal at 3:30 p.m.), and ASP (After School Program) for those in all grades who wish to stay until 5:15 p.m. on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays to work alongside teachers, beginning on Wednesday. Email Maria Sher at [email protected] for ASP enrollment information.

I look forward to seeing you all at Back to School Night on Wednesday. We begin with dinner on the lawn at 6:00 p.m. and then you follow an abbreviated version of your child's schedule with the first class starting promptly at 6:45 p.m. The evening is finished no later than 8:30 p.m.

And on Friday we have our first home football game of the season. We'd love to have as many students stay as would like. Pickup would be around 5:30 p.m. Even better, come along and enjoy the atmosphere yourselves.

Please review your contact information as it appears in the Student Directory here. If there is any information that is missing, or if you would like to add a point of contact that currently isn't listed, please email Communications Manger Alisabeth McQueen at [email protected].

I think I need a long weekend already!

FAQ- PE Exemption

What is PE exemption? PE exemption is offered to students in grades 5-10 grade participating in an outside organized sport.

How does PE exempt work? This exemption form must be submitted to Mrs. A, The form is then approved or denied. Student must do a minimum of 8 hours a week.

What happens once my form is approved or denied? If the form is denied, the student will be required to continue participating in PE. If the form is approved, a log form (a form where students document hours of the respective outside sport) will be mailed home, along with an approval letter, the student is then "exempt" from PE.

What if I go to the gym with my dad, can he sign off on my form? No, cannot be anyone related to you, must be an organized sport.

Do I need to fill out an exempt form if I participate in our schools athletics team? No

What happens if I do not return the log form? You will receive an "F" in PE until the log form is returned to Mrs. A

What is the earliest time I can go home if I' am exempt? 2:30 pm and must get signed-out from the office, however, if you are PE exempt and will not get picked up until 3:30 pm it is mandatory to attend the PE exempt room (room TBD)

Please email me if you have any other questions. Thank you

RHP and Renaissance Traffic Rules

You will be pleased to see that we now have a traffic light installed at the campus entrance/exit (Huge kudos to the donors who made generous gifts to make this finally a reality). Please drive slowly (walking pace) on campus. Drive as if your children go to school here! In short, the rules are:
·   All vehicles must clearly display an RHP or Ren decal on the back window (City regulation).

·   No cutting through residential streets to avoid the light at Western and PV Drive North, and no drop-off or pick-up anywhere except on campus (City regulation and agreed courtesy to our neighbors).

·   Morning drop-off is parallel to the curb, and  quickly, please, unless you need to park in the main lot and come into school for some reason.

·   Grades 5-7 may drop off parallel to the curb by the West Wing.

·   Afternoon pick up at peak times is using the football field lot as either pick up or as a cell-phone lot for IMMEDIATE pickup at the flag pole. No lining up or waiting at the flag pole please.

·   The detailed  traffic rules are here.
