Greetings!

Please join us on Tuesday evening, June 13th at 7:30PM for our monthly meeting at the Harborview Health Center, 178 Ogden Ave at Franklin St - 1st Floor Cafeteria.

In addition to the opportunity to hear from and bring issues to the attention of a representative from the Jersey City Police Department North District and from the Residence Response Center, we will be discussing and providing updates on a number of development projects, including 444 Palisade (plans will be at the meeting and downloadable here), 620 Palisade Ave, and 520 Palisade Ave.  We will also have a status on the new Gazebo including our application to name the Gazebo after Maria Tuzzo, who served as secretary of RNA for decades.

All are welcome and encouraged to attend.
Two Palisade Ave Projects Before Zoning Board June 15th at 6:30pm

Two major development projects are on this Thursday's (June 15th) Zoning Board agenda - 620 Palisade Ave and 520 Palisade Ave.   You MUST attend in person to speak out against or in favor of either of these projects - this is the legal hearing for these projects and the board will likely vote on these applications at this meeting. If approved, the developer will have the right to proceed, unless a legal challenge is made and is successful.

  • 620 Palisade Ave, the owner revised the plans based on feedback from the neighbors and the RNA board, the new plan has 18 units and 4 stories with a roof deck (down from 5 stories and 22 units).  The RNA Board now supports this project given that the developer has complied with neighbors' requests and concerns.
  • 520 Palisade Ave (old firehouse), the revised plans have 17 units and 10 parking spaces with a 2000 sq ft retail space, the addition on the rear of the building goes up to 75 feet, the rear balconies have been removed and replaced with a roof deck, the bulkheads for roof access rise up to 89 feet.  RNA members voted to not oppose this development application.
The Zoning Board Meeting is Thursday June 15th, 6:30pm at City Hall - 280 Grove Street in the Council Chambers.  It's especially critical for neighbors within 200 feet to attend the meeting to get on the record and for the opportunity to influence the board's vote.
