September Group Service Project
Come join Volunteer Alexandria as they commemorate those who gave their lives on 9/11 by cleaning up and beautifying a local cemetery. Additionally, September is National Emergency Preparedness month and in honor of this, v olunteers will learn about how to be prepared in an emergency. Click here to sign up!

Northern Virginia Senior Olympics - A few more volunteers needed!
We are in need of a few more volunteers for the 2018 NVSO including the cycling race and the swimming competition.   Click here to sign up!

Spanish Speaking Front Desk Volunteer Needed
Volunteer Fairfax is in need of a bilingual (Spanish/English) speaking volunteer to help at the front desk to answer phone calls and greet clients/guests. If you have questions or are interested in the position, contact Carly Hubicki at 703-403-5360 or chubicki@volunteerfarifax.org.

When: Once a week for 4 hours from 9 a.m. - 5 p.m. for a minimum of 6 months

Meal Pack Challenge
AARP Foundation will be hosting their second annual Summer of Service to Seniors Meal Pack Challenge on the National Mall in honor of 9/11 Day of Service and Remembrance. This event will rally thousands of volunteers to pack a million meals for distribution to struggling seniors in the Washington, D.C. area. To sign up for a 90 minute shift, click here .

Venture into Volunteering Fair

Junior Achievement Finance Park

Volunteers Needed for the 2019 Tax Season
The Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program is starting their volunteer recruitment for the 2019 tax season. VITA offers free income tax preparation and filing services to families and individuals who earned less than $54,000 in 2018.They are recruiting for front desk greeters (no tax training required) and volunteer tax preparers for basic returns. VolunteerFest
Save the date for VolunteerFest 2018 presented by AT&T! VolunteerFest is a region-wide day of community service held every October in conjunction with National Make a Difference Day. VolunteerFest mobilizes hundreds of volunteers to help nonprofits accomplish tasks that they would not have the time or resources to do on their own.

When: October 20 - 27

When Frank Pallone retired after a 36-year career with the federal government, he still wanted to work.

After spending a year searching for another job, he became restless. He remembers telling himself, “This is going to drive me crazy, doing nothing,” he said. So he decided to embark into a career in volunteerism. Timesheet Submissions
