RUSH Cares About Green Building

RUSH currently has 3 LEEDaccredited Professionals on staff, and regularly attends the annual "Green Build" International conference in order to further our understanding and knowledge of sustainable design and construction. In addition, RUSH was named a Certified Green Contractor by Associated Builders and Contractors in May, 2013.

To achieve Green Contractor Certification from ABC's National Green Building Committee, RUSH was required to meet a vigorous list of requirements, including the implementation of an aggressive recycling program, water conservation efforts, and green building awareness/education for managers.

As part of our overall efforts in the area of "Green Building", RUSH attempts to be conscious of environmental issues related to our project sites. We are proud to have the distinction of having received NASA's first ever "Environmental Recognition Award".

The Heart of RUSH: Our People
Meet Mike Lapinski:

RUSH Construction's Senior Project Manager, Mike Lapinski, has been with the company for 16 years now, and describes RUSH as "a company that cares for its clients and its people." Before he ended up at RUSH, Mike was looking for a company that had a better regard for its personnel and offered a place where he could grow and excel. He found that with RUSH, each and every promise made to him was both met and exceeded.

"My first few months at RUSH opened up a world of opportunities," says Mike. " Changing companies is never easy, and it is downright scary when you have a young family to think about; but I soon learned that being a part of RUSH not only meant that I now had a great place to work, but I worked for a company that had my best interest at heart."

RUSH Construction became employee-owned in the year 2000, and Mike notes becoming a part-owner of the company as his most memorable moment at RUSH.  "This company has become an extension of my family, and we have been through a lot together, good and bad," says Mike, when asked why he has stayed at RUSH for so long.  "When you are treated right and your efforts are acknowledged and appreciated (and not to mention you own a part of the company!), the question would be, why would you leave?"

Mike names the Police Hall of Fame in Titusville as his favorite RUSH Construction project to date. It was the first project he worked on that had such distinctive character, and was not locked behind a gate and could be seen by all. "It also provides a great service to the law enforcement community that my daughter is a part of."

A family man, Mike and his wife Debbie live in Rockledge, and have 6 children and 2 grandchildren. He enjoys spending time with family, fishing, traveling, and watching movies.

"To give real service you must add something which cannot be bought or measured with money, and that is sincerity and integrity."
