April is Volunteer Month, a significant time for RVP to reflect again, on the often, life changing health care services that our growing network of licensed pro bono mental health and somatic practitioners deliver to post 9/11 warzone veterans and their families.
If you volunteer for RVP, thank you again for delivering free, confidential services to our newest generation of war zone veterans, service members and military family members.
2014 client service-hour data returned by 93% of our pro bono providers showed 4,387 hours of free confidential mental health and somatic services were delivered to: 360 Post 9/11 warzone veterans and service members, and 106 spouses and partners, children, and parents. The services were worth an in-kind dollar value of $414,000!
Other activities last year included: hosting four continuing education trainings in Portland and Bend, responding to 219 information/referral requests, attending multiple Yellow Ribbon events for Oregon Guard members deploying to Afghanistan, and their families, and multiple community education presentations on the challenges of reintegration.
If you donated to RVP last year - thank you! Your contributions enabled us to recruit, train and support 43 more volunteer providers and reach out to more veterans and their families in Oregon and SW Washington. We cannot do this work without your contributions. Thank you for supporting RVP and those we serve.
Warm regards,
Belle Landau
