Important Participant Information
  

Thank you for registering for the 19th Annual City of Laguna Hills Memorial Day Half Marathon, 5K, 10K and Kids Run events Honoring the USMC Dark Horse Battalion. Please read through carefully so you are w ell prepared for the weekends events and can enjoy all that we have to offer.   We will have packet pick up both on Saturday & Sunday at Road Runner Sports in Laguna Hills, along with Race Day packet pickup. Also note that the 5K, 10K and half marathon will start together at 7:00AM on Monday. All events are chip timed.   usatf 
  
USA Track & Field Sanctioned Race & the 5K is a Certified course.





Legacy Runners!
As you probably know, this is the 4th year for the Joint Chief of Staff Legacy Medal.  If you qualified by running any distance in 2014, 2015 and 2016 keep coming back and in 2018 you will earn a Joint Chiefs of Staff medal to commemorate your accomplishment.  This year's medal honors the US Army. We are keeping track of finisher data. Any race distance qualifies. Mix and match - as long as you finish!
Make sure to run every year to collect them all!


Picking up for a Friend or Family Member:
If you need to pick up for a friend or family member you may do so on Saturday or Sunday (everyone must pick up their own packet on event day). Please be sure to bring a signed copy of the event waiver ( click here) and a valid copy of their driver's license.
No waiver, no license, no bib.

We will have waivers on site for those picking up their own bib to sign.

8:00AM - Shuttles from Start Line to Finish Line expo*.  
 *Or spectators can walk 1.4 miles down Paseo de Valencia and cheer on participants the whole way. (click for walking directions)

If you haven't already bought your beer or food tickets, be sure to bring some cash and join us at the Finish Line at the Laguna Hills Community Center Patio for a beer flight from local breweries, presented by OC Brew Ha Ha.

Just $10 for the flight of 4 3oz pours. Proceeds go to South County Outreach.

Shuttle Buses
Shuttle buses will start running from the Laguna Hills Mall (START LINE) for spectators at 8:00am.  To return to the Start Line, shuttle buses will run from the Laguna Hills Community Center (FINISH LINE) at 8:30AM and will transport runners and spectators back to the Laguna Hills Mall until 12:00pm. Look for the red, white & blue balloons!  

Community Expo & Kids Zone
We have a lot of great vendors with a variety of products and services that we think you might be interested in. Please be sure to walk the aisles and check them out. We have beverage and food sampling, massage and chiropractic services, and my favorite - our charity partners sharing with us what they are doing for our community, our veterans and other great causes. For the Kids we have bounce houses for them to enjoy before and after the Kids race which kicks off at 9:30AM and a FUN Kids Crafts/Games area! Please take the time and bring your family out and spend the morning with us. Look for the red balloons!  
  
Ceremony & Marine Corps Static Display
Be sure to visit the Marine Corps static display and shake an active duty U.S. Marine's hand and say THANK YOU!

Stay for the Memorial Ceremony at 9:15am. Los Angeles Police Emerald Society (LAPES) Bagpipe Band will open the ceremony.

3/5 Battalion Support Committee

Support Team Darkhorse! 

 

The City of Laguna Hills adopted the 3rd Battalion, 5th Marine Regiment, of the 1st Marine Division. This infantry battalion, nicknamed "DARKHORSE" is based out of Camp Pendleton. Additionally,  members from a team of Marine wives called "Stroller Warriors Camp Pendleton" will be participating with their children in the other events.    A $3.00 portion of each registration fee will be donated to the support group known as Team Dark Horse, a 501 ( c ) (3) organization. Visit their booth at the FINISH LINE EXPO to purchase 3/5 T-shirts, hats, water bottles, and other memorabilia. Donations are gladly being accepted. Visit the 3/5 Official Website HERE!
