CAN YOU BEAT A TRAIN?

Spring TRAINing 5 and 10 Miler

Here's your chance to find out if you are faster than a train. In the Spring TRAINing race you and a train race side-by-side - it on the railroad tracks and you on the Towpath. Imagine running along and hearing the clank-clank-clank of wheels on tracks, the chug-chug-chug of an engine, and the shrill whistle echoing through the valley. You'll hear it long before you see it, but it won't take long before it comes up behind you. Can you made it across the finish before it passes?

The race when the train starts at 10:10 AM. You'll start running along the Towpath from Howe Meadow, while the train starts in Akron. Can you get to Lock 29 before the train? It's scheduled to pull into the station at 10:55 ... or it could be as early as 10:45. Keep ahead of that chugging engine!

Pick your distance and sign up to RACE THE TRAIN! This event benefits the Conservancy for the Cuyahoga Valley National Park. It will be held on Sunday, March 23. More information is available on our website.
