Why do we want to leap forward in financial support for our church's ministry? Paula Primm shares her experience as a newer member of First Church.

My relationship with First Church is complicated. When I relocated to Madison a few years ago, I was initially attracted by the variety and quality of the music program, the lovely and meaningful worship services and the warm and welcoming congregation. That's the warm, fuzzy, comfortable part of my relationship with First Church.

But this church sometimes makes me very UN-comfortable. It challenges me to examine my personal Christian beliefs and to translate those beliefs into action. First Church has a powerful commitment to serving our community in large and small ways I never imagined possible, and I have witnessed how that commitment and service are reverberating through Madison.
" Downtown for Good " is not just a catchphrase. For the members of First Church, it ' s a calling, a calling worthy of my financial support. Together we can and do make a difference.

Please reflect on what First Church's ministry means to you and prayerfully consider leaping forward in your financial support on Commitment Sunday, November 20.

To-Go Meals Travel to Bethel Lutheran

On Tuesday, Bethel Homeless Support Services opened as a Day Resource Center. First Church volunteers transported our To-Go Meals across the street to be served at the Center where guests are able to sit down and enjoy these meals together. The meals are assembled at First Church by students in LaFollette High School's community vocation program.

Here are some ways you can get involved with Outreach services at First Church:
  • Greet people during the week at the first floor Welcome Center
  • Help with the Community Outreach Breakfast on Wednesday mornings
  • Volunteer in the Food Pantry
Please contact Karen Andro to learn more about these and other volunteer opportunities.
