Don't You Wish Your Team Could Play Like Mine?
As the first sentence in our mission states:  United 4 Children improves the social, emotional, physical, and educational well being of our children by enriching the knowledge of families, teachers, and caregivers.  At the 3rd quarter training, "Don't You Wish Your Team Could Play Like Mine," ASAP staff leaned about the developmental stages of a team.  They then engaged in several team activities and games. The team from Art in Mind - Woodward, Ms. Michelle, Ms. Shakyra, Mr. Ian, Mr. Prospect and Ms. Melanie, recently used some of these games to physically challenge the children. One of the activities used was The Hula Hoop Pass.  According to Mr. Prospect, "We have some very competitive kids.  They really enjoyed it."

We Love Storytelling At The 24:1 ECLC
A big welcome to Ms. Sally (a volunteer from Ready Readers) to the 24:1 Early Childhood Learning Center. The children were thrilled to have a visitor and listened to her story intently! We are so glad Ms. Sally will be sharing her stories with us weekly! Contact us to find out more about our kindergarten readiness program.

Your Assistance Is Needed!
Please contact your members of the Senate Appropriations Committee and ask that they support HB2. The St. Louis Appropriations Committee Member is listed below.  HB2 would fully fund the foundation formula and trigger Pre K funding through the formula in our state. This is a critical first step in securing more quality early childhood for the children who stand to gain the most.

Senator Jamilah Nasheed is the Appropriations Committee Member for St. Louis and can be reached at Jamilah.Nasheed@senate.mo.gov

Way To Go Inclusion Team!
The wonderful Inclusion Team attended the 44th Annual Conference on the Young Years (CYY),  "The Power of Words"! Early childhood educators help build the foundation for student learning.
The words they use to communicate and build  relationships have a lasting impression on a child's  development. They help mold little minds while
teaching compassion, tolerance, and acceptance.

Keep up the great work ladies!
