Children Learning
Outside Learning Supports Inside Learners

outsideThere are some real important reasons to provide young people with access to outdoor time. Research shows that outside play and learning can benefit Physical Health, Cognitive Benefits, Social-Emotional Learning, and Spirit as well as provide opportunities for STEM..

Back to School Safety Checklist

backtoschoolsafetyBack-to-school season is in full effect.  Remember to safely share the roads with school buses, pedestrians and bicyclists, and provide children with the necessary knowledge to stay safe at school.

Whether children walk, ride their bicycle or take the bus to school, it is extremely important that they- and the motorists around them - take proper safety precautions.

STEM Training Opportunity

trainingopportunityWhat is STEM?   STEM is a curriculum based on the idea of educating students in four specific disciplines - science, technology, engineering and mathematics - in an interdisciplinary and applied approach. Rather than teach the four disciplines as separate and discrete subjects, STEM integrates them into a cohesive learning paradigm based on real-world.

United 4 Children will offer two STEM Trainings.

Early Writing

earlywritingEarly writing is an essential part of a child's foundational literacy skills. Children learn that their written marks can express meaning and gain an understanding of how "print" works. These are essential precursor skills for conventional reading. Here our friends at the 24:1 Early Childhood Learning Center "write" and "read" notes to each other. These experiences will help them be ready for kindergarten.

Your Vote is Needed!

yourvoteUnited 4 Children urges you to support and VOTE YES on Amendment 3, supported by Raise Your Hand for Kids, which will appear on the ballot this November. Amendment 3 provides $300 million annually in new, dedicated funding for investments in early childhood health and education, as well as smoking-cessation programs for pregnant mothers and youth. The funding comes through an incremental increase in Missouri's cigarette tax, which is now the lowest in the nation.
