yourcontributionA new year for United 4 Children means we ended the last with our Annual Campaign.  The Annual Campaign always gives us a boost of energy to enter a New Year motivated and refreshed to achieve our mission of improving the social, emotional, physical and cognitive development of our children.

emotionalIn their article "Administrative Practices that Support Children's Emotional Development," (Exchange, November/December 2016) Kay M. Albrecht, Jennifer C. Fiechtner, and Margaret Banks identify "four administrative strategies that help directors ensure their teachers have the specialized knowledge and teaching skills needed to be effective in supporting children's emotional development."

welcomeKim Hunt is our new Director of Career Development and Road to Quality.  Kim has a Master's degree in Public Administration and a Bachelor's in Early Childhood and Elementary Education.   Her career includes more than 20 years of experience with nonprofit programs in the field of Early Childhood and After School Care, focusing on supporting child care providers with their training opportunities and moving programs toward quality.  She has several years of experience as a Child Development instructor at the Community College level, classroom experience for early childhood and after school programs, and as an administrator. Kim is an experienced trainer and provides development and coaching for Career Development and Road to Quality.

farewellWe extend our sincerest thanks to Kate Stetcher for her hard work and dedication at  United 4 Children. During her time with us, Kate worked as an Assistant Program Administrator. Kate was a great asset to the Child Nutrition Services, the agency, and the providers she served. We wish Kate every success in all her future endeavors.
