Healthy For Kids Fun for You
Saturday, December 2, 2017
12:30 pm - 3:30 pm
Children do not understand what is good and bad for their bodies. They depend on adults to provide them with healthy, nutritious foods and to encourage physical exercise. Teaching children healthy behaviors will encourage healthy behaviors throughout life. This workshop provides participants with concrete ways to incorporate physical activity and nutrition in your afterschool program. You will walk away from this workshop with fun activities that promote nutrition and physical activity that you can use in your program tomorrow. You will also receive resources to find more information and quality activities on your own.
The importance of effective supervision and supervision standards will be the main focus of this training. All areas key to effective supervision will be discussed, including the physical environment, schedules & routines and adult responsibilities.

The Halloween Extravaganza is a community event that brings the childcare centers in the 24:1 Collaborative area and the community together. It was an event full of trunk or treating, face painting, hay rides, food and more... This year the centers were given the task of decorating their truck and coming up with fun games for the children. The trunks ranged from Candy Land, bubble gum machine, Wizard of Oz, haunted house and spooky trunks.
