Bowling for the Band and Roof!

If you didn’t sign up for bowling DO NOT FEAR you can still come to cheer on teams, look at the silent auction items and overall enjoy a good fellowship with other school parents and church members.
Attendance Matters!
No surprise that studies show higher achieving students have less absences on their school record. In an effort to encourage perfect attendance , the Milwaukee Bucks have developed a program to help students be more aware of their days in school. During the month of February EVERY student with perfect attendance for that month only will be awarded 1 free ticket to a Bucks game! Watch your child's backpack for more information and a special chart to track it on! Good luck students!

It is that time of year to think about Year Books! The cost this year is $13.00. Please return the envelope to the school office with a check made out to “Life Touch” by Friday February 2, 2018.

PTL Meeting Results
This month we had 3 survey questions to vote on. With 22 voters weighing in, here are the results:

Exciting News for Next Year
As many of you have already noticed, we are growing in numbers in our student populations. What an incredible gift from God when so many Lutheran schools are experiencing exactly the opposite! Together with the Board of Day School Education, we have been monitoring our "growing pains" and making decisions for the 2018-2019 school year already. The first major decision coming out of these discussions is to hire another full time teacher for next year. We will be splitting our current 1st/2nd grade classroom and will be looking for a 2nd grade teacher. Please contact Amy Gromowski directly with any potential teacher candidates for this new position.
Classroom Alignments for 2018-2019
We don't have too many changes for next year other than our classroom split of 1st and 2nd grade. Please note that while this is the plan right now, it could be subject to change with some unforeseen circumstance. We'll keep you informed! See below for individual classrooms:

Box Top Competition
We are running a student Box Tops competition starting Monday, January 22 and running through Friday, February 9th. Students, please bring in all your collected Box Tops and keep cutting them out! 
3rd Quarter Chapel
We will support our South Wisconsin District efforts toward Hurricane Harvey Disaster Relief in Texas.
Tuition credit for taxes
For all tuition paying families from K– 8 grades, letters will be sent home in the coming week for tax purposes.  Any questions please feel free to contact Heather McGuire 920-261-2579 or stop by the school office.        Thank you!
AR CHALLENGE
The first – eighth graders are participating in an AR National Challenge that begins on January 29 . Any elementary LCMS school in the United States and Canada that is presently using the Accelerated Reader program may enter the contest. LCMS elementary schools from California all the way down to Florida are participating. Students that are participating must be independent readers.
The purpose of this challenge is to provide an incentive and motivation for our children at Lutheran schools to read more, get smarter, and have fun. Reading for this contest can occur anywhere the children are – at home, at school, in the car, etc. All reporting of points will be done by each school’s coordinator via the AR Challenge web site. Mrs. Baker is our school AR coordinator. Each week she will be responsible for reporting the total points that each grade level/division has earned. March 9 is our cutoff date for the AR Challenge.
Last year we took second place overall. This year Ms. Gromowski challenges us to take FIRST place. We can do this, students. Get reading!
2018-2019 Registration
It is that time of year. Please fill out the registration form and return to the school office. You may pay the registration fee of $100 for K3/K4 students or $200 non refundable tuition deposit for K-8th grade students upon submission of your form. Remember, families who are NEW to K3-8th grade receive FREE tuition next year.

Financial Aid Available 2018-2019
For families who do not qualify for the Wisconsin Parent Choice Program, financial aid may still be available. Financial aid is awarded on an “as needed” basis. If you would like to apply for financial aid for the 2018-2019 school year, please stop by the school office for further information.  April 30 is the deadline for ALL returning families to submit the online application through TADS.
Referral Program for Good Shepherd!
It starts with you. Refer a family to GSLC, encourage them to set a tour date. When the family enrolls and stays for at least one semester, the school will give you a $200 credit toward tuition. Please see the attached brochure for more details. Help spread the word about this great school!
