Keeping Score on What's New at RSA
Dear Friends,

I hope that everyone has had a wonderful beginning to 2018! We at the Ramah Sports Academy are so excited that we are finally in the year of our inaugural summer. There is a lot to be excited about Kayitz (summer) 2018 and for those who have not yet registered, I can’t wait to speak with you about how your family can be a part of it.

Another highlight of 2018 for sports enthusiasts is of course the upcoming Winter Olympics in PyeongChang, South Korea, this February. The Olympics hold so many lessons for us in the RSA community. We will see the payoff of hard work and commitment. We will join the celebration of victories for athletes from around the world. Awe will overtake us as we watch acts of beauty and strength that are rare and special. There are also the cautionary lessons for us to learn, as we see the consequences of taking short cuts and cheating resulting in an entire nation being forced to sit out the games.

The values learned, taught and experienced at the Olympics will be a part of camp as well. RSA campers will learn from expert coaches about the importance of dedication to becoming better athletes and people. Jewish experiential study will inform how we approach competition, celebration and the importance of respecting the rules. This is what makes the RSA experience so special and exciting. We can’t wait to help your campers go for the gold, make their way onto the podium and celebrate achievements big and small this summer.

L’hitraot,

Dave Levy
Director, Ramah Sports Academy

The Ramah Sports Academy is excited to announce that Troy Antonacci will be serving as our Head Soccer Coach for Kayitz (Summer) 2018!

As a player, Troy earned all-city honors while winning three high school titles with Martin Luther King High School in New York. He also won national titles with Herkimer College, Briarcliffe College and The Greek Americans (CSL). Troy played with the Olympic Development Program team, the U-23 Cosmos, semi-professionally with the New York Athletic Club (NPSL), and in several tournaments overseas. Troy has trained with professional teams such as NYCFC, the NY Cosmos, and has worked extensively with Wilmer Cabrera, the current coach of the Houston Dynamo in the MLS.

Currently, Troy is a teacher and coach at Success Academy Charter School in Brooklyn. We are thrilled to have him on the field with us at the Ramah Sports Academy this summer.

On joining the RSA team, Troy said: “I am very excited to be joining the Ramah Sports Academy as the head soccer coach this upcoming summer. I want to inspire our campers to challenge themselves to improve their overall character as soccer players and also as people. I hope to create a fun and challenging environment for the soccer players to learn and to thrive in. I am truly looking forward to the upcoming summer at Fairfield University and to being a part of the inaugural season of the Ramah Sports Academy!”
