News Updates & Quick Links

Sometimes the improvements we make are not obvious.  That is certainly the case this month when we switched to a much better server on November 21st. You may have noticed the site is quicker and there have been no annoying interruptions. The other major improvement this month was the Upcoming Competitions feature. This will be a great resource for athletes. You can help make it great by asking meet organizers to submit their meet information - it is really easy!

The end of the year is approaching but this does not mean we are done compiling rankings for 2015. There are still many performances that we are finding and inserting back to 2013. We are also trying to collaborate with national masters organizations so everyone's performances will be listed. Of course, you can help by submitting your own results and asking your national organization to provide us performance lists. This will enable us to finalize these lists much quicker.

Ranked Athlete Spotlight

Athletics is a family affair for Herbert. His wife, 11 year old son and 9 year old daughter are sprinters. The entire family enjoys training and competing together worldwide.  In addition to being an accomplished athlete (he is a multiple world champion and highly ranked), Herbert leads a research group that is investigating how exercise physiology may be involved in attenuation of aging process.  Masters Athletics is significantly embedded in Herbert's life! His research has brought him to the US and he has many opportunities to compete there with his family. Herbert is a highly ranked athlete and visits the site often as does his research team who finds the information valuable for their research.
By the Numbers / Meet Results

The numbers were significantly down this month due to several factors.  One of these factors prompted us to switch the server. We will be back to our normal productivity level this month.
  • 5,171 performances added (439 by athletes)
  • Representing 2,005 athletes from 54 countries
  • 380 more athletes represented.

This monumental task of compiling rankings lists worldwide is not easy but we continue to be motivated because of your encouragement - thank you. Please take our survey so we can further improve this site for you.
