Name a baby bat and support Lubee!

Lubee Bat Conservancy is proud to announce the recent births of several pups, including  Variable flying fox twinsThis is only the second ever documented case of twins in this species. The first occurred at Lubee in 2009.
 
10 pups were born April 29 - August 18
- 4 male & 1 female Malayan flying fox
- 3 male & 2 female Variable flying fox
 
We'd like to offer you the opportunity to name a bat and support Lubee's conservation & education programs.  We are seeking pledges of $250 or greater, and as a thank you, you will be able to name one of the pups. As they grow, your bat will be an ambassador for its species and the habitats we strive to protect.
 
To name the twins (both male) we are asking $500.
 
You will receive a personalized "Adopt-a-Bat" portfolio featuring a photo of the bat that you named and a certificate imprinted with the chosen name. All names and donors will be featured in an upcoming e-newsletter and on our Facebook page.

Bat Fest 2017 - DISMISS THE MYTHS!

Lubee Bat Conservancy is excited to welcome everyone to our 13th Annual Florida Bat Festival held Saturday, October 21, 10-5.
Our Flying Giants are ready to dispel the myths and superstitions surrounding these gentle animals.
 
* ADMISSION IS $5 FOR CHILDREN AGES 5-12 (KIDS 4 AND UNDER FREE) AND $8 PER ADULT.
* THE BEER GARDEN AT BATFEST IS $25 ONLINE/$28 AT GATE (includes festival entry). Funds are used for our ongoing research, conservation, and community education programs.

Dismiss The Myths!  Learn if the 13 most "popular" bat superstitions are indeed something to fear. Go on a scavenger hunt and discover all the bat superstition posters located throughout the festival and YOU be the judge!
 
Interactive Native Bat Displays   Journey into the Lubee barn and discover interactive displays highlighting native FL species and the habitats they live. Guests will also learn about echolocation and how to ID bats through their calls.
 
Human Foosball   That's right, play a game of Human Foosball, sponsored by WeFooz!   Check out their website!
 
Expanded Beer Garden   Click here to learn more about unlimited samples from your favorite Gainesville breweries - First Magnitude, Blackadder, Infinite AleWorks, Swamp Head, Cypress & Grove, High Springs Brewing, and home brews from the Hogtown Brewers & Brick City Brewers!

The festival will be held on the beautiful grounds of the conservancy, located at 1309 N.W. 192nd Avenue, Gainesville, FL 32609.
