Presidents' Message

Dear Raskob Community,

From smoke and heat to just heat, it's a big improvement! The upcoming RPA Meeting will be on the first Friday of November, 11/3, at 8:30am in the Raskob Library. We hope you can join us and learn more about your school and the work the RPA does to support everyone involved.  Our guest speaker will be Nicolette Hagstrom, middle school's writing teacher.

Please note that November's RPA meeting was moved from the second Friday of the month to the first Friday due to Veteran's Day on November 10th - school will be closed on Veteran's Day.

We hope you can join us for the Dyslexia Simulation Workshop on November 8th!

To RSVP please visit:
Doors open at 12:30pm for registration. Workshop to start promptly at 1pm.
Room: Founders' Hall, Bay Vista Room
Please plan time for parking.

I can't wait to see how a simulation works on someone as dyslexic as me (Mark not Phil)!

The Holidays will soon be here and a few things to keep in mind are:
  • See's Candies Holiday Drive will be starting October 27th!
  • Veteran's Day, Nov 10th means no school!
  • Raskob's Book Fair: November 29th - December 1st
We are working on providing more information to Parents and Guardians on a password protected version of our RPA website, so if there are things you would like to see included, please send your suggestions to Jessica ([email protected]).

Cheers,
Mark Headley

Dyslexia Simulation Workshop
Wednesday, November 8th

It's one thing to read about learning differences.
It's another thing to see them through your child's eyes.

If you have not yet participated in one of these experiential sessions, now is the time to "get" what a student with learning challenges experiences daily.

The RPA welcomes you to participate in a free dyslexia simulation workshop in which you become the child struggling to perform in a world where expectations are high and empathy is in short supply. Materials used are designed by the Dyslexia Training Center of San Diego and include simulations in reading, writing, and processing.

The session will be moderated by parents and will take place at Raskob/HNU, starting at 1:00pm with the workshop timed for Raskob 2:30 pick-up.

To register, please visit: raskobworkshop.eventbrite.com
Doors open at 12:30pm for registration.

See's Candies Holiday Drive
See's Candies Holiday Drive starts October 27th!

Be on the lookout for more information and order forms going out this week.
This is a great opportunity to purchase business client gifts, as well as holiday presents for family and friends and support the RPA.
Also, the three kids with the most sales will each receive
an Amazon gift card as we did last year!
Please make checks payable to the RPA.

Selling starts 10/27 and orders will be due 11/24.
Candy is scheduled to be passed out the second week of December.
