RPA Message

Here Ye! Here Ye!

Thou has been summoned to join the 2018 Spring Social hosted by the Raskob Parents Association. Please join us at the West Berkeley Fencing Club and enjoy an evening of socializing with parents and faculty.

In addition to what promises to be an evening of great conversation, delicious food, and a relaxing atmosphere, you will have an opportunity to make a gift to support educational expenses not covered by tuition. Specifically, we'd like to raise money for these items:
  • 56 Waterproof outdoor lockers
  • Front lobby makeover
  • Rain mats with logos
  • Air conditioners
  • New drive up sign for RPA and Raskob communication

We dedicate this evening to honor our amazing staff, teachers, students, and families who make our school special. Come hang, eat some great renaissance food, take some fencing lessons, grad a beer at the beer garden, and get your tarot cards read!

To continue the merriment of our Spring Renaissance Fundraiser and amp the theme, we want to entice those who want to dig out their Renaissance costumes (you know who you are). We encourage you to flex your creative muscles and come as a Gypsy, Lady of Shalott, Robbin Hood, or maybe the Village Wench.

Free free to bring a bottle of wine to share! For more info read the fundraiser flyer or contact Christine Puccio. Parking is limited. We encourage carpooling or alternative car sharing.

Dyslexia Simulation Workshop
Thursday, March 29th, 1:00 - 3:00 pm
It is one thing to read about learning differences.
It's another thing to see them through your child's eyes.

If you have not yet participated in one of these experiential sessions, this is an opportunity to get a sense of what a student with learning challenges feels daily in school and at home.

The RPA welcomes you to participate in a free dyslexia simulation workshop in which you become the child struggling to perform in a world where expectations are high and the daily challenges a dyslexic child faces are poorly understood. Materials used are designed by the Dyslexia Training Center of San Diego and include simulations in reading, writing, and processing.

The session will take place at the Raskob/HNU in the Bay View room, starting at 1:00 pm with the workshop timed for Raskob 3:00 pm pick-up. Doors will open at 12:30 pm and the workshop will start promptly at 1:00 pm.
