Our FREE Tuesday Visitor Wake Up Reception series continues through Tuesday, August 15, 2017. Enjoy displays from attractions in the area, local businesses and food. Daniel can't wait to visit with your kids between 11:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. and give each child a WPSU activity book and PBS KIDS stickers.
  • Note: due to the heat Daniel Tiger will follow a schedule rotation of 20-minute appearances at the top of each hour starting at 11:00 a.m. followed by a 30-minute break. The last appearance will be approximately 6:00 p.m.

Bears are many things to many people: a symbol of nature untamed, a worthy quarry for hunting, a pest that raids beehives and birdfeeders, to name a few. Our perceptions of this shy and elusive creature are more often based on stories and folklore rather than facts. Is there some fungus among us? You Bet! Join local mushroom expert Bill Russell as he takes us on a hike to look for mushrooms. Following the hike, he will show some slides on varieties of mushrooms. Bill Russell has been giving mushroom programs, workshops, and hikes for over 35 years. Bill has published a book called Field Guide to the Wild Mushrooms of Pennsylvania and the Mid-Atlantic, which is useful to the novices and experienced wild mushroom hunter. He is a longtime resident of State College, Pennsylvania.

Guide Matt Price of Huntingdon Landmarks, Inc. will lead the tour showcasing the architecture of downtown Huntingdon buildings. On each block during the tour, participants will be encouraged to find the actual elements within the streetscape shown in photographs.
