Dear Neighbours,
It has been an honour serving as your City Councillor. We have had many successes in our neighbourhood and across the city, but there is still a lot of work to do. That's why I'm running for re-election for North Kildonan councillor.
I am proud of the work we have done with record investments in fixing our roads. We have also made meaningful improvements to playground equipment and we continue to update them to modern safety standards.
I continue to be frustrated with the severity and frequency of brown water incidents. Excuses are no longer good enough-it's time City staff provide us with solutions for the long term that give us assurances that they will become quite rare and limited to the area affected.
We also need to make sure that low-priority pet-projects of the mayor and some councillors don't hijack the agenda at City Hall. I am proud to have moved the successful motion to have a question on the October 24th ballot regarding the opening of Portage & Main. Without it, the Mayor was on-track to have part of it opened next year to the detriment of the people in the 81,000 vehicles that go through the intersection every day. Now the public can have their say and this bad idea can hopefully be stopped.
For me to continue this work, I need your support. The most important, is your vote on October 24th (or at one of the advanced polls). You can also help by volunteering for my campaign by helping me knock on doors in the neighbourhood, working with a team putting up lawn signs, dropping off literature, calling residents from my campaign office or helping drive people to the polls. You can also show your support by agreeing to have a lawn sign placed in your yard.
Again, I hope I can count on your support on October 24th.
