Friend of the Club,

I would like to thank this wonderful community for helping us expand our West Bend Club. We were able to build a brand new art room, technology center, games room, cultural arts center, teen room, and multi-purpose lunchroom. Thousands of kids will benefit from our new program areas for years to come. With the generosity of all of you, we were able to raise $1.2M to help children at the Boys & Girls Clubs of Washington County. For this I will always be indebted to all of you for your dedication on this much-needed project.

Youth of the Year
Amanda Makes Top Three in Wisconsin!

Boys & Girls Club members from all over Wisconsin gathered in Madison last month to compete for the state Youth of the Year. First, each local Club hosts their own event and chooses their representative. Next, that member advances to the state level and competes for a chance to head to the national competition. We are so excited to announce that Amanda Ksioszk, from our Jackson Club, was chosen as our local Youth of the Year and advanced to the state level in Madison. While in Madison, she got a chance to tour the capital, see the sites of the city, and meet other outstanding youth from all over Wisconsin. Amanda gave her memorized Youth of the Year speech in front of the other contestants and a panel of judges. Although she did not win state, she made it in the top three. We are so incredibly proud of Amanda and all of her accomplishments! We cannot wait to see what is in store for her very bright future!

Collecting Pennies
Featured Club: Hartford

Our Hartford Torch Club has been very busy. They have been working on a Secret Agent Program and their mission was "Operation Give Back". They brainstormed ways to give back to the community and came up with a penny drive for the Washington County Humane Society. After two weeks of collecting, they had 5,300 pennies! As a special treat they got to pie a staff and also take a trip to the Humane Society to drop off the money. They had a lot of fun learning about the pet adoption process and what it takes to help an animal in need. We are very proud of this group and their passion for giving back to their community.

  Helping Hands
"No act of kindness, no matter how small, is ever wasted" - Aesop

April
12-18 is National Volunteer Appreciation Week. We are fortunate to have so many dedicated volunteers on our team that help with homework, coaching, special events, and hanging out with our members! THANK YOU for all that you do! We appreciate you and your passion for helping kids!

A Big Welcome!
New Jackson Unit Director

Although we had to say farewell to Sue Bliese, our former Jackson Unit Director, we are beyond excited to welcome Danielle Hurray to our team! Danielle, also known as Dani, graduated from Marian University in Fond du Lac with a Bachelor's Degree in Social Work. While in school she worked as a Teen Center Program Aide at the Fond du Lac Boys & Girls Club. In her free time, Dani enjoys spending time with family and working out. Dani loves working with children and enjoys helping them become the best people they can be. We know that she will bring that same energy and fire to our Jackson Club. Welcome, Dani!
