February 2018

Dear Friends

Sorry for the delay but getting into February was quite a task.

I hope you enjoy our FORUM this month.  There are exciting pieces.  Ellen Van Stichel's superb essay on giving birth, written a few days before she gave birth to her third child!  A reply from Peter Knox from Kenya on Trump's horrendous remarks about Africa.  Mary Jo Iozzio on the #MeToo Phenomenon.  Sharon Bong on the Ecclesia of Women in Asia's meeting in Ho Chi Minh City.  Jorge Ferrer on natural disasters as ethically accountable.  Great essays addressing real issues.

From Asia, the sad news of the death of Fr. James Poonthuruthil, SDB. There is also news on Ecclesia of Women in Asia's meeting in Ho Chi Minh City as well as some new noteworthy books.  Special congratulations to Mary Yuen and Kochuthresia Puliyappallil for their new books!

From Europe there is the report on the Catholic Moral theologian's meeting in Innsbruck and another book on Amoris Laetitia.

Finally, we will be writing you with more information on Sarajevo next month....

EWA Update
The Ecclesia of Women in Asia (EWA) is a forum of Catholic women doing theology in Asia. EWA's vision is the development of theologizing from Asian women's perspectives and the recognition of Asian Catholic women theologians as equal partners in theological discussions within the Church and Academe.
