New Recruiting and Job Search Tool Coming - SHIP Career Connection

A new recruiting and job search tool is currently in the works.  You may have noticed that College Central, our formal job database, is no longer working. Over the months of July and August we are migrating our information into a new and improved system for recruiting employees and finding jobs. Watch the August career newsletter for details on registering for this new system and an alumni users guide for job searching on the new SHIP Career Connection site.

If you're a computer engineer or software developer and interested in socializing with developers while learning what others are doing, and want to share some of the exciting work you are working on, you should attend. Middle School Teacher of Math and Science, Montessori Academy of Chambersburg

Responsibilities: Teach Math classes to small groups from 7th grade math levels through Algebra 2 and Geometry; Teach Earth and Life Science classes to 7th and 8th grade students.

BA or MA in Education; Public or Private School PA State Certified for Elementary Education or Secondary Certification in Math and Science.

 

Media Technician, Montessori Academy of Chambersburg

Responsibilities: Teach research lessons to students in grades 1-8; Work with faculty to create technology based projects following tech curriculum; Assist student on projects in computer lab; Catalog and purchase books for the library; Coordinate volunteers for help in the library.

Bachelors in Education; Technology; Library Science or related field. Child Abuse and FBI clearances must be obtained

Senior Software Engineer - Videon Central, Inc.

Videon Central offers a unique set of capabilities to facilitate next generation digital media applications. Located in State College, PA, Videon provides programming, engineering, and
production expertise for a wide range of technologies from HDTVs and streaming media players to in-flight entertainment systems and home theaters. We partner with the largest integrated circuit developers (like Intel, Broadcom, and Marvell) as well as consumer electronics brands (like Sony, Samsung, and LG) to facilitate the development of physical products as well as software applications.  Videon is currently looking for an exceptional Senior Software Engineer with 5+ years of development experience in software design using C/C++ for multimedia applications on embedded Linux and Android platforms. 

Responsibilities:  Design software using Design Patterns and good software structure at both the architectural and detailed levels to serve as a basis for constructionRequirements discovery, analysis, documentation, and validation of properties that must be exhibited by software being developed to solve a particular problemThe creation of working, quality software through a combination of coding, verification, unit testing, and debugging;  Evaluating product quality and improving quality by identifying defects and problems.

Qualifications:  BS and MS degrees in a technical field; 5+ years of software development experience; Proficiency with Linux software development; Fluency with C/C++ programming languages (including object oriented programming); Experience building embedded systems software;  Real-time programming experience, including hardware interfacing, debugging, and troubleshooting, is strongly preferred;  Experience with media technologies such as FFmpeg/libav, OpenGL, GStreamer, or OpenMax is desirable.
