Men's & Women's Basketball ready to move into 2016!

Reinhardt's men's and women's basketball teams are preparing to wrap up the 2015 portion of their schedules and head into the rest of Appalachian Athletic Conference play in 2016.

The RU men's squad has gotten off to a solid start this year, winning six of their first nine games and also playing a pair of exhibition games against NCAA Division I teams Troy and Tennessee State. Head coach Jason Gillespie has a rotation that goes at least 11 players deep in every game, with every player having the chance to make a contribution on the floor. Corey Ricks is the team's leader in points with 18.8 per game, while William Reid and Nehemiah Jones are each averaging over 10 points per game for the Eagles.

The Lady Eagles have been battling a plethora of injuries, but still have won three of their first eight games this season. Senior Kateca Favors has been one of the cornerstones of the RU squad this season, including helping the Lady Eagles to a 69-54 win over Middle Georgia State with 21 points and 20 rebounds. Cherokee County native Lauren Mullinax hit the game-winning 3-pointer as time expired against Bob Jones, and earlier this season also had her first double-double of her career. Freshman Jada Hubbard is the team's second-leading scorer, averaging 11 points per game.

Every AAC game the teams play is a doubleheader with the counterpart squad. RU has home AAC doubleheaders against Milligan, Tennessee Wesleyan, Montreat, Union, Truett-McConnell, Point, St. Andrews, and Bluefield still to come on the remainder of the schedule.
