In Reading...there is Power!

"Keep reading. It's one of the most marvelous adventures that anyone can have."
~Lloyd Alexander

The Reading Power school year is off to another successful start and the 'marvelous adventures' keep rolling in as we meet our wonderful new students, grow our program, and add more dynamic, caring volunteer tutors to our team. Thank  you to everyone who makes Reading Power possible each year.
~Rebecca Mullen, MSEd, Executive Director of Programs

Teaching children to read since 2003!

New this Year

Beulah Park: We doubled our program at Beulah - adding 4 tutoring stations and second grade students (in addition to tutoring first grade students).

Forrestal: We have added a second classroom to our Forrestal program. Now we are able to tutor more second grade students in addition to tutoring kindergarten and first grade students.

Green Bay: In November, we began our pre-kindergarten pilot program at Green Bay Early Childhood Center. We are excited to pilot this program for our youngest readers!

We are always recruiting additional volunteers. Please, tell your friends and family about Reading Power and arrange a site-visit for possible new tutors. Check us out online ( www.readingpowerinc.org ) and fill out our tutor application. Additional trainings will be scheduled.

This is an exciting time for Reading Power. There is magic happening in our classrooms. Our students are excited to be learning and developing relationships with the tutors. Our tutors love the opportunity to teach and learn from each other. Tutor, Janet  Behnke, said it best when she exclaimed, "I just love it, love it, love it!" I  extend my thanks to the Reading Power team--staff and tutors-- for continuing to deliver our excellent program to our many Reading Power students. We give thanks, as always, to our many generous donors who make Reading Power possible.  Please consider joining us as a tutor or donating to support our students.
