Real Hunger Stories from Feed My People

People struggle with hunger due to a variety of circumstances. What they share is the need to stretch their dollars in order to feed their families. At Feed My People, we are committed to giving our neighbors in need a voice so we may all better understand the faces of hunger. A volunteer from Barnabas' Table in Chippewa Falls shared these stories with us -

Barnabas' Table received fresh peaches from Feed My People Food Bank and shared them with their patrons one evening. After the meal, a woman came up to the volunteer in tears and told her that she hadn't eaten a peach in years. She was moved that someone would care enough to offer them fresh fruit.

Another time a patron finished their meal and told the volunteer, "Because you do this, I am able to eat every day. I wasn't able to do that before."

Community programs like Barnabas' Table provide a nutritious meal for patrons to come together and enjoy. A hot meal offers comfort and respite for our neighbors who have fallen on hard times. Feed My People is grateful to all our partner hunger-relief agencies who provide food and hope to our neighbors in west central WI.
