grandchildren had fallen on hard times. Though his son and daughter-in-law were employed, the family wasn't making enough to get by.

John explained that his daughter-in-law had developed health issues which required expensive treatments that their health insurance wouldn't pay causing financial issues.

"Their bills are getting bigger than their
income," he said. "We thought this could help so I came here to check it out."

John left the church with bags full of potatoes, corn, cabbage, and green beans to bring to his family and a smile knowing that there was a safety net to help them get back on their feet.
The fresh produce distribution at Zion Lutheran Church in Mondovi was new this summer and fed more than 800 people in the community and surrounding area on a weekly basis. Each week thousands of pounds of farm fresh produce was hauled to the church parking lot to be distributed to those in need.

"I am amazed by all the people that come and need help," said volunteer Bob McKissick. "I have people come in tears because someone cares enough to help them. That's the whole purpose - helping people who need it."

Feed My People Food Bank is proud to partner with the Zion Lutheran Church in Mondovi to bring good nutrition, hope, and compassion to our neighbors in Buffalo County. This year Feed My People has distributed over a million pounds of fresh produce through our partners in west central Wisconsin. Thank you to every volunteer and donor.
