Help us build our new home!

Rebuilding Together NYC has embarked on a large capital project to build a multipurpose facility that will include new offices with meeting rooms, warehouse space, parking,
a classroom and mock-up area for our workforce training program , and a store where people can shop for salvaged building materials and appliances.

We have secured a 4,350 square foot space in Gowanus, Brooklyn-- currently one large open warehouse that we will transform into the perfect facility for our growing nonprofit.

Fundraising for the build-out is underway, but we need your help to complete the job! Please visit our campaign page for more information and to make a donation.

The Home Depot Foundation
Rebuilding Together NYC is thrilled to announce a new partnership with The Home Depot Foundation! Together with the Foundation and Team Depot volunteers, Rebuilding Together NYC will repair and renovate the homes and community spaces of low-income veterans living in New York City.

Community Partner Spotlight: Pathways 2 Apprenticeship
Pathways 2 Apprenticeship is a non-profit organization that works with individuals, unions, and community organizations to recruit, train, and mentor people from low-income and high unemployment communities for careers in union construction in New York City. Pathways 2 Apprenticeship provides meaningful guidance and mentorship to our Workforce Training Program participants on how to prepare for construction apprenticeships.

Project Highlight: Accessibility Upgrade in Brooklyn
Jacqueline applied for Access modifications for her sister, Charlene, who is blind and has degenerative bone disease. Incidentally, Jacqueline suffers from Multiple Sclerosis and has difficulty navigating the home. After RT NYC completed a range of accessibility upgrades and modifications, Charlene and Jacqueline can now safely access their upstairs bathroom and enter and exit their home safely.

Project Highlight: Critical Home Repair on Staten Island

Last month, we opened our first of approximately 30 critical home repair projects to be completed with support from the New York State Affordable Housing Corporation. The home, located in Staten Island's Midland Beach neighborhood, was hit hard by Hurricane Sandy and plumbing for the boiler was never properly repaired. The homeowner has been living with insufficient, inconsistent heat since the storm and we are so glad to finally address the issue and bring some warmth to her home.

Volunteer Spotlight: Procore Technologies Inc.
On Friday January 13th, Procore Technologies Inc., a nationally renowned construction management software company, volunteered at the Sarah Powell Huntington House in Lower Manhattan. The Sarah Powell Huntington House is a residence where homeless women exiting the criminal justice system receive guidance and the opportunity to reconnect with their children. We are incredibly grateful to have had Procore Technologies Inc. help us renovate the Sarah Powell Huntington House.

Their group of 11 worked tirelessly all day and refused to throw in the towel until the last drop of paint was applied. By the end of the day, they painted 38 doors and 11 radiators in the facility. It was a pleasure to work with the Procore family and we look forward to seeing them again sometime soon!

Salvage Store Highlight: Sale to Buddhist Insights
Rebuilding Together NYC was happy to sell a gently used washing machine from its Salvage Store to Buddhist Insights, a non-profit that connects monastics with lay-people. Based in Arverne, NY, Buddhist Insights holds regular retreats and workshops at the Rockaway Summer House. Rebuilding Together NYC will continue to divert products from the waste stream and connect them to great organizations like Buddhist Insights.
