Ezekiel 37:1-15
"The hand of the Lord was upon me, and he brought me out by the Spirit of the Lord and set me in the middle of a valley; it was full of bones. He led me back and forth among them, and I saw a great many bones on the floor of the valley, bones that were very dry. He asked me, "Son of man, can these bones live?" I said, "O Sovereign Lord, you alone know."
Then he said to me, "Prophesy to these bones and say to them, 'Dry bones, hear the word of the Lord! This is what the Sovereign Lord says to these bones: I will make breath enter you, and you will come to life. I will attach tendons to you and make flesh come upon you and cover you with skin; I will put breath in you, and you will come to life. Then you will know that I am the Lord.'"
So I prophesied as I was commanded. And as I was prophesying, there was a noise, a rattling sound, and the bones came together, bone to bone. I looked, and tendons and flesh appeared on them and skin covered them, but there was no breath in them.
Then he said to me, "Prophesy to the breath; prophesy, son of man, and say to it, 'This is what the Sovereign Lord says: Come from the four winds, O breath, and breathe into these slain, that they may live.'" So I prophesied as he commanded me, and breath entered them; they came to life and stood upon their feet--a vast army.
Then he said to me: "Son of man, these bones are the whole house of Israel. They say, 'Our bones are dried up and our hope is gone; we are cut off.' Therefore prophesy and say to them: 'This is what the Sovereign Lord says: O my people, I am going to open your graves and bring you up from them; I will bring you back to the land of Israel. Then you, my people, will know that I am the Lord, when I open your graves and bring you up from them. I will put my Spirit in you and you will live, and I will settle you in your own land. Then you will know that I the Lord have spoken, and I have done it, declares the Lord.'"

A Pastors Panel, including HSRM's Clayton Ford on the far left, responds to four seminary Presidents/Leaders regarding the future challenges of theological education. Dr. Pete Ely is the ABCNJ Staff person who oversees the ABCNJ Training Academy. Pete is on HSRM's Nat'l Service Comm.

The ABCNJ Academy had the privilege of hearing four Presidents or Leaders from different seminaries, including Palmer, Northern, Princeton, and New Brunswick Theological Seminaries, as they discussed the challenges of theological education in the years ahead. Very informative!

Four outstanding and impressive American Baptist IM missionaries shared their responses and challenges at the Academy event. Left to right: David and Joyce Reed,, and Bruce and Ann Borquist. The Borquists have recently partnered with HSRM on two different & exciting events in Brazil with CBN (Nat'l Baptist Convention). The Fords were speakers at the August 2014 National Pastors Conference in Florianopolis, and the Piippos led a Pastors "Servant-Leadership Retreat" at a retreat center outside of Brasilia in October 2014.

ABCNJ Executive Minister Dr. Lee Spitzer (on the podium at the far right) leading Annual Session, attended by more than 600 participants from all over New Jersey. The event was very impressive, with reports on the many exciting ministries and mission endeavors happening in the Region. Meetings ended with a number of baptisms from different churches in the NJ Region. (Lee is on our HSRM Nat'l Service Comm.)

A Day of Ministry at Columbus Baptist Church
in Columbus, NJ - Sunday, September 20

Members of Columbus Baptist are waving their greetings to all of you in this second-of-two morning services at CBC, where Dr. John Grove has been the Senior Pastor for over thirty years. CBC is such a great church!
Pastor Grove is a member of HSRM's National Service Committee.

Clay preached both morning services at CBC on Sunday, Sept 20, and preached two different sermons, which can see on YouTube:

Clay also led in a 2+ hour seminar on Sunday evening entitled,
"Balancing Prophetic Revelation with Responsible Biblical Interpretation". We had fun with that one! We're thankful for lots of very positive feedback on the messages and seminar. God is so good!

The Partnership between HSRM & American Baptist International Ministries? IT'S FULL SPEED AHEAD!
In addition to great fellowship and prayer together, Clay's brainstorming meeting with IM Executive Director Dr. Reid Trulson and Associate Executive Director Dr. Stan Slade was very fruitful. We will have some exciting news in the months ahead about upcoming events where we will be partnering together. The Holy Spirit makes it abundantly clear in Acts 1:8 that HSRM & ABC-IM belong together!
