Your Snohomish County Parks & Recreation is gearing up for a new year with park  improvements completed and more planned; learning opportunities, coming volunteer projects and fun activities.  Read more . . .
ADA Improvements made to Twin Rivers Park 
ADA compliant parking stalls and walkways to the restroom building at Twin Rivers Park were completed this monthThe parking area work was completed by Quilceda Paving and Construction. Interior improvements to the restrooms are also planned. 

The City of Arlington has a partnership agreement with Snohomish County to manage and operate Twin Rivers County Park. Arlington maintains and schedules the park, while Snohomish County owns the park and is responsible for major improvements.
Kayak Point Golf Course gets improvements
Recent improvements at Kayak Point Golf Course for visitor enjoyment include leveling and re-sodding the tee boxes, new cabinets, countertops and flooring in the restaurant and kitchen and the roof was replaced. Planned future projects include irrigation, bathroom improvements, pro shop improvements, and deck expansion.

Kayak Point Park is participating business in the 

Great Northwest Glass Quest treasure hunt

Feb. 13-22

You are invited to participate in the greatest treasure hunt in the Pacific Northwest!  

 

Come to Stanwood and Camano Island to search for unique hand-blown glass treasures by world-renowned glass artists, Mark and Marcus Ellinger.


 
Plastic "clue balls" will be hidden in local businesses and parks (including Kayak Point County Park) during the 10-day event. Inside the plastic clue ball are instructions on where to pick up your glass treasure. Be sure to have the host businesses stamp your entry forms while you are on the Quest!

The Streamkeeper: caring for local salmon and trout streams
Thurs., Feb. 26 at the Northwest Stream Center, McCollum County Park
~ See amazing underwater video as you learn the complexity of the salmon life cycle.
~ Learn the secret world of the "hyporheic zone" and the amazing complexities of the
   "salmon forest".
~ Learn great science while having some fun at the same time.

"Cruisin' to Murder" theme for this year's popular fundraiser supporting local food banks   

Mark your calendars for the murder mystery dinner and auction on March 7, 6:00 p.m. for a fun night for the whole family that includes a delicious dinner, silent auction, sleuthing, prizes for solving the mystery and for best-dressed! 

    

Through the last ten mystery dinner and auction events, more than $35,000 has been donated to the Sultan, Sky Valley, Maltby and Snohomish food banks!  Click here for more information.
