Greetings!

Its that time of year and this Hurricane season started us of with a pre-season kick off with Tropical Storms Alberto and Beryl. Living in Florida, we are faced with many dangers from severe weather. This year in particular, we want to make sure that everyone is ready for not only tropical events, but wildfires, severe thunderstorms and flooding.

So, with that being said...I want to make sure that you have every opportunity to respond both locally and nationally. It is important for us to know when you are available for disaster response.

I urge you to update your availability in the DSHR as often as you can this Hurricane Season. In addition, to this you may receive a call from the Chapter asking you for updated information, so that we can update our contact information for you.

You can update your availability by:
  • Calling: 850-402-5616 and speak with our Disaster Associates.

Please remember to leave your full name, DSHR number and availability (for example:  Aug 8-29th available or not available until 9/1/12)

Thank you all for your hard work and dedication!
In Red Cross Spirit,
Katie

The survey is completely anonymous and any positive criticism/feedback will be appreciated so that we can continue to grow, be a place you want to continue to volunteer for and to be more effective to our Community.
HOW TO LIST YOUR AVAILABILITY
Please update your availability in the DSHR. Remember that deployments on Nationally assigned Disaster Relief Operations generally last for 2 weeks. Also, please do not list your self as available for more than 3 months in advance as it is hard to predict what life my throw at us 3 months from now.

You can list your availablity three ways and which ever is most comfortable for you. Please let us know if you have any questions!

Option 1:   You can list your self in the DSHR by visiting https://dshr.redcross.org. You will need a USERNAME and PASSWORD to access the DSHR self serve. If you have misplaced or have not received these, please email: deployment@tallyredcross.org

Option 2: You can email deployment@tallyredcross.org your availablity and our DSHR Team will update your availability for you.

Option 3: You can call the Chapter and leave a message with the Associates Office (ext 5616) or with the Emergency Services Director (ext 5617). Please remember to leave your name, your DSHR number and the dates that you are available.

If you have any questions, suggestions or issues with updating your availablity, please call the Chapter at 878-6080
