This Week's Events and Announcements for Week Beginning April 30, 2017
  • Pray for Otto and Blake Osborne, children of Andrea and Derek Osborne, who were baptized today.
  • Congratulations to the Redeemer members who are graduating from college this year.  Justin Anibas and Brady Och graduated in December.  The following will graduate in the next few weeks - Jeff Amey, Matt Brunner, Brianne Brynell, Derek Huntley, Taylor Isberner, Ellie Lundgren, Tori McKenzie, Allie Sjursen, Grant Walby and Abby Wenzel.

  • TONIGHT...Nordic Contemplative Evening Prayer Service at Pilgrim Lutheran, St Paul; followed by food and
    conversation at Café Latte, St Paul. Signup at the Welcome Center or by calling the church office at 651-429-5411.
  • New Yogadevotion session, 8 weeks long, will begin Tuesday, April 23 through June 13th in the Fellowship Hall from 4:30-5:30.  This multilevel class is led by Jean Auger.  A payment of $64 is due at the first class.  Please make out your check to Redeemer Lutheran Church (memo:Yogadevotion).   If you are a new participant, or need more information, please email Sue Johnson(suejohns3@gmail.com) to sign up. Half sessions can be arranged ahead of time. If you miss a session, you can make it up at another site.  We welcome your participation!
  • Volunteer APPRECIATION Brunch-between services April 30.  Many thanks and blessings to all who care for Redeemer in so many ways!
  • TODAY Holy Land Pilgrimage Information Meeting   2:00 PM
    Interested in a Pilgrimage to the Holy Land?  Pastor Pam will be co-hosting a trip April 1-May 1, 2018. Here's a great opportunity to enrich your faith by visiting the places that have become so familiar through scripture: Bethlehem, the Sea of Galilee, the Jordan River and Jerusalem.  Pick up a brochure at the Welcome Center to see the exciting itinerary and come to the informational meeting to learn more about this amazing opportunity.
  • Coming in June-New Member Class.  If you are interested in becoming a Redeemer member, please join us on Sunday, June 4 from 1-5 PM to learn more.  You will meet congregation leaders and staff and learn about
    Redeemer's vision, mission, values and history.  Register with the church office (651/429-5411) or office@rlc-wbl.org by June 1.
  • Habitat For Humanity: Redeemer will be teaming with St. Andrews and Gustavus Adolphus for this year's Habitat build site at 924 East Jessamine Avenue in St. Paul. We are scheduled for the  week of June 12th - 16th. If you are interested, please sign-up on the table in the atrium and register online at http://sta.tchabitat.volunteerhub.com/events/index. NO experience necessary!   • Relay For Life: The Redeemer Runners Relay For Life team is signed up for this year's Relay. The Relay For Life will be held at South Campus on July 28th and 29th. Relay For Life is the signature fundraiser for the American Cancer Society. If you are interested in being part of the team, please register and sign-up at http://tinyurl.com/redeemerrunners and click "Join our team". If you have any questions about Relay,  please contact Sue Eddy, Robin Valento or Jesse Anibas.
  • New Audio Training opportunities Have you ever wanted to work at the soundboard or run the visuals for worship? This is your chance!  There are New Audio Training opportunities this May on Wednesdays & Thursdays. We're soon going to be updating much of our audio technology in the Worship Center, so this is a great time to learn and become part of the Media Team. For more information, contact Zach at wztaylor@rlc-wbl.org, at church phone extension 31, text 651-207-6818, or talk to him in person. Training begins the first week of May, so get in touch ASAP!
  • Caregivers' Support Group -If you are in the position of providing care to a loved one, you know the role can be both rewarding and challenging.   One way to receive the care you need is to become part of a caregivers' support group. Pastor Pam and Pastor Candee invite you to attend a 5 week program from June 4 - July 9, Sundays from 11 - 12:30 in the church library (no meeting on July 2).    During these sessions, you will be provided with education and caregiving tools to manage stress and difficult emotions, communicate more effectively, create balance in life, locate helpful resources, and find caregiving strength through spiritual practices.   The focus will be on learning, sharing, relationships and support. The $20 registration fee includes education, support and handouts.  Scholarships are available. Please register by May 29 either by phone (651-632-5330) or email: 2ndHalf@Lyngblomsten.org.  We will follow up to confirm your registration.
  • Scholarship Funds Available-Did you know the Redeemer Trust Fund has scholarship money available?  If you are making plans to attend college next fall, we may be able to help you make your decision by providing you with a scholarship.  Deadline to submit your request if May 9, 2017.  The requests will be reviewed at our May 11 Trust Fund meeting.  Simply fill out a Scholarship Request Form and submit the paperwork required that is listed on the form and put the info in our mailbox in the church office.  If receiving a scholarship might change your college choice and the college you are considering wants at decision before May 11, let us know.
