“Come and see what God has done, He is awesome in his deeds towards the children of men.”

                        Psalm 66: 5

            David McCullough, in his book “The American Spirit”, writes that “The lessons of history are manifold.”   As a historian, McCullough states that you learn from history.  This is what God is telling us in the Psalm for today.   The Israelites continually faced obstacle after obstacle.   From the Exodus, to the parting of the Red Sea, the manna from heaven, to the entry into the Promised Land, God always was working and saving His people.

            What are the obstacles that you are facing today?   What burdens are you bearing?   No matter what cross you are bearing, come see what God has done for you in Jesus Christ.   Jesus has died and rose again for your salvation.   God’s love for you is eternal.  Nothing will separate you from His love, including the difficulties you may be presently facing.   His promise is certain and sure, He will work all things out to you good and to His glory for He has called you to be His child in Jesus Christ.

            So remember God’s mercies, they are new everyday.  “Come and see what God has done, He is awesome in His deeds towards the children of men.”
