Hospitality. Worship. Faith development. Mission and service. Generosity. These are practices that have been undertaken by churches for generations. But how would your church be renewed by
radical hospitality,
passionate worship,
intentional faith development,
risk-taking mission and service, and
extravagant generosity? The Wisconsin Conference's Church Renewal Program seeks to help churches
renew and grow their congregations by teaching churches the
Five Practices of Fruitful Congregations.
Past participants have made a difference in their congregations: "I think the best impact was on our collective attitude. There is now more of a sense that our church can continue to worship and serve Christ...and even to thrive. Thanks for your work." "The most significant impact has been on Intentional Faith Development. The work (we) did on that has laid the groundwork for a major overhaul in how we hope to do inter-generational faith formation." "We have continued to work on being a welcoming church on Sunday morning. People who have joined say they felt very welcomed."
The Church Renewal Program starts with your congregation recruiting a team made up of at least three lay members and the pastor. The teams attend a kick-off meeting at the Trost Center in DeForest on January 28, 2016. Then each team organizes six study sessions back home, facilitated by an outside trainer and using the text and workbooks of the
Five Practices of Fruitful Congregations series by Robert Schnase.
Renew your congregation! Register for this important program by January 9, 2016. More details are available at wcucc.org/fivepractices. You can also access a flyer about the event to share with others, and here is the link for online registration. See you there! |
