All the Saints Before Us  tea-candles.jpg

As we get ready to send this week's eNews on Halloween, I am thinking of the holy traditions of All Saints' Day--of its invitation to remember that the Church (in it's biggest, truest sense) contains not only those of us who remain in this life, but also those who've gone before us. When we gather in worship, and at the communion table, they are somehow, through the wondrous mystery of God, present with us.

Calling to mind the lives of those who have gone before me, whose faith has shaped my own, I am filled with gratitude. The preciousness of this life reminds us of how important it is to live well.

In that spirit, I share this poem, which comes from the Episcopal Church:

"May God, who has given us, in the lives of his saints,

patterns of holy living and victorious dying,

   strengthen your faith and devotion

and enable you to bear witness to the truth

   against all adversity. Amen."

with gratitude and hope,

Pastor Molly

News from the Nursery:
Adriana is doing amazing things to update our nursery and make it a place for parents not only to drop off their kids but also to receive tools, books and activities to assist in child rearing. If you come by for a visit on a Sunday morning you will see information about all our upcoming family events in addition to a library filled with resource books you can check out.  These books have been personally picked out by Adriana herself and include expert information on how to best talk to your kids about tough issues like divorce, bullying, cancer and death. Please come by sometime and visit this parent resource space!  If you would like to donate to our library here is a link to our Amazon Wishlist!  Thank you in advance for your support of this ministry.

Lay Looker Lay Looker, by Bob Peterson
Read Bob Peterson's column here and on our website!

"Another change for the better is the two microphones hanging from the sanctuary ceiling near the altar area. No, the system is not yet ready, but progress keeps happening, so if you haven't noticed these improvements it means they will not be obstructing anything. It is hoped they will bring our sound system into the modern era soon..."
