Hi There!
Before we get started on this month's newsletter, I wanted to take a few moments to introduce myself.  I am Catherine Ralston, the new Economic Development Manager for the City of Redwood City.

I started working with the city in February and in my short time here, I have fallen in love with Redwood City.  The great restaurants, stores and activities of downtown provide a new adventure for me every time I step out of the doors of City Hall.  I am enjoying discovering the different sides of Redwood City from the Port to the hillsides.

If you see me around town, please stop and say Hi!  I would love to hear what you want to see in Redwood City - different types of restaurants, different stores to shop at, or different activities to do with your family.  I can also be reached at [email protected] or 650-780-7204.
Shop Downtown Redwood City
Each month, I will be focusing on a different retail store in our downtown area that provides a unique shopping experience for you to enjoy.  This month we recognize Aili Ice Floral Designs.  This floral Design studio and boutique celebrated their Grand Re-Opening last month after being closed for several months due to a fire in a next door restaurant.

Aili Ice ("Eye-Lee Ice"), a Bay Area native, comes from a lineage of designers and studied various art forms prior to establishing her floral desi gn style and studio in 2003. Her visual aesthetic focuses on natural and found elements as well as unusual vibrant floral design.

Aili opened her flagship floral concept store and art gallery in downtown Redwood City on April 25, 2014. After 11 years in business, she found the perfect space, among the revitalized energy of Redwood City's downtown retail area. The gallery features her own artwork, as well as the art of local painters, photographer, sculptors, jewelry designers and high quality candy vendors. The space is also available for rental for small parties, live    music and events.

In both her floral design studio and her Boutique, Aili brings a level of sophistication, imagination, confidence and style to every
creation.  So take a moment to stop by her shop located at 2363 Broadway Street or check out her website at ailiicedesigns.com
