Assalaamu Alaykum WaRahmatullahi WaBarakatahu,
Rain, sleet, hail, and snow coupled with freezing temperatures are a recipe for disaster. Refugees, internally displaced people and those in poverty are bracing themselves with what nature has in store. The winter brings with it hunger, sickness and in some cases death. HHRD's
"Winter Relief Program"
is collecting funds to help these families prepare for the bone chilling temperatures ahead.
For 4.8 million Syrian Refugees this is their 6th winter away from home either under the open skies or in the tent villages of Jordan and Lebanon. Families struggle to stay warm and battle the winter precipitation without proper clothing and preparation. Lack of winter essentials, malnourishment and disease result in tragic losses.
HHRD's Middle East North Africa (MENA) team is on the ground providing "Winter Relief"
of blankets, hats, gloves, socks, heaters, fuel and much more to those in desperate need. The images they are sharing from these camps is truly heart breaking. Children are roaming barefoot in summer clothing amongst the muddy and cold alleys. Let us come together and ensure they are well prepared for the winter months.
Pakistan is home to an estimated 2 million Afghan refugees who are faced with the dilemma of returning to an unstable country or live in poverty in Pakistan. The brutal winter and summer months both are an unwelcome sight for these families. With no where to turn to HHRD is urging our supports to help us reach out to these families through our Winter Relief Program.
As we all head to the stores to purchase our winter apparel and enjoy the warm food on these cold nights, let us think of those in need and do our part to help ensure their winter is bearable. Your support and donations are always welcome. Visit our
