Randi Weingarten, President of the American Federation of Teachers (AFL-CIO)is a supporter of the community schools strategy. Pedro A. Rivera serves as Pennsylvania Secretary of EducationUnder Secretary Rivera's leadership, the School District of Lancaster, PA developed and implemented new curriculum using the community schools strategy. His innovative ideas helped to improve math, science, and writing proficiency scores. Learn more  
Carmen Fariña is the Chancellor of the  New York City Department of EducationTogether with Mayor de Blasio, Chancellor Fariña  is responsible for expanding the community school strategy to 215 schools . She also launched the Framework for Great Schools, a holistic research-based approach to school improvement.   Learn more  
Richard Buery is the New York City Deputy Mayor for Strategic Policy Initiatives. He is the architect of Pre-K for All in New York City and is also charged with spearheading the implementation of ThriveNYC in an effort to overhaul the city's mental health system.
