Learn about additional housing supports and strategies from DHS/Housing

Ben Laudermilch, Pennsylvania Department of Human Services, Executive Director for Housing, will present on housing services in conjunction with these broader housing strategies and how people with intellectual disabilities and autism can benefit from this strategic initiative.
The PA Department of Human Services’ (DHS) five-year housing has designed a comprehensive plan and strategy to connect Pennsylvanians to affordable, integrated and supportive housing. DHS will leverage internal and external resources and collaborate with all levels of government and private agencies to make housing resources and services more accessible and available to a wide range of individuals served by DHS.

Key elements of the five year plan include focusing on:

  • Individuals who live in institutions but could live in the community with housing services and supports
  • Individuals and families who experience homelessness or are at-risk of homelessness
  • Individuals who have extremely low incomes and are rent-burdened
