Parent and Child Classes autumn sessions
Offered beginning September 11, 12, or 13 from 9a-11a
Parents or caregivers and children join together in a warm environment that imitates the rhythms and atmosphere of a Waldorf early childhood classroom. Classes are taught by Roberta Miday Haupt. Roberta is a certified Waldorf Early Childhood teacher. Children are guided through the morning by the gentle rhythm of circle time, creative play, snack and story time. Parents engage in home-like activities or make simple crafts while their children help them or play nearby. Children play with simple, natural toys and materials.
The natural world and seasonal festivals are reflected during circle time. This provides the opportunity to learn through music and rhyme. Games and movement activities engage both large and fine motor coordination. Stories and puppet plays nourish the child's imagination and provide rich material for creative play.
The classes offer information and give parents an opportunity to discuss child development, parenting issues and Waldorf education with an experienced teacher. Sessions are offered year round. Fees for each session are $200.00 for one child and parent(s) and $100 for each additional child. Families who enroll for the entire year will receive a 10% discount.
Sessions are held once a week from 9:00 a.m.-11:00 a.m. for 7 weeks except where noted. Class sizes are limited and fill quickly.
